Greenspan

Regelmatig horen we vanuit Den Haag: "Dat kunnen we wel aan de markt overlaten, die reguleert zichzelf". Dat dacht Greenspan ook. Veertig jaar lang. Maar hij kwam inmiddels en te laat tot inkeer: "I made a mistake in presuming that the self-interest of organizations, specifically banks and others, were such as that they were best capable of protecting their own shareholders and their equity in the firms".
