Medio jaren vijftig begint de grote Britse autoknoeipartij, door
henzelf omschreven als badge engineering. Deze folder juicht: "...
renew your aquaintance with a thoroughbred", maar het autootje staat op
de "floor pan" van een Morris Minor en deelt de carrosserie met de
Wolseley 1500, de motor is een BMC B van anderhalve liter, maar met twee
carburateurs. Ook de grotere Riley, de RMH "Pathfinder", die in
october 1953 op de markt kwam, deelt de carrosserie met een Wolseley, de
Six-Ninety, die een jaar later verschijnt. Het snorkende proza in de
folder verhult dat het allesbehalve een uniek Rileyproduct is:
"The enthusiast particularly, but indeed every motorist who enjoys
motoring fot motoring's sake, will appreciate the thrilling performance
of the twin-carburetter engine, which is matched with a special high top
gear to give fast cruising with the engine running well within its
