A page further on is another glued in illustration. It is nicer  than that of Lena B. Ober and is accompanied by a real business card with the advice "Be kind to all, intimate with a few; and may the few be well chosen.", followed by the name A.H. Squires. That is difficult as initials give problems. In 1870 there are two families with the name of Squires living in Chagrin Falls. If there is a relationship between them, I don't know it. In the first place there is George Squires (37), coming from England with his wife Martha (43) and their children Richard (12) and Mary (3). One inquiry shows that they are recent immigrants, because their son Richard was born in England, but I know that not all inquiries are faultless. The second family is that of 49 year old Henry Squires, who is married to Olive (42), and their children are Emma (19), Willie (16) and Alfred (11). The last name doesn't seem to be a girl's name, but in an inquiry it says "female". She (but probably he), is the only one whose first name starts with an A, just like on the business card. I do hope the census of 1880 will give a solution - and it does. Alfred H. Squires is 21 years old by then, he is "male" and married to Sarah E. Barber (24) and the illustration on the page - with a New Year Wish - becomes clear as Alfred is a printer. His parents - Henry (who works in  the garden) and Olive, live in his house. I am even able to find a son of Alfred and Sarah. His name is Frank A. Squires - born on July.1, 1886, died on February 17, 1949. Printer Alfred does not appear in the census of 1900 anymore.

Ten pages are left blank, before Dell White writes on October 22, 1886 the following rhyme in Otho's album: "May peace and happiness be your lot As through this world you trot, trot, trot." In the margin I read "Rhetorical day". Searching for what kind of day that could be, I find nothing. The names Dell and White are not adding to my joy either, because Dell can be a man's as well be a woman's name and I have the suspicion that there will be plenty of Whites in  Chagrin Falls. I am right. In 1880 the youngest White is the one year old Palmer and the oldest is Thomas, 77 years old and originally from Ireland. There are more Whites: Martha E. Selbert, Libbie, Lulla, Arthur W., another Martha, James R., Susan John B., George, Pary and Jenney.  I go back ten years, because  if Dell had been born in 1880 or  just a couple of years earlier, he could not have written in Otho's album. In  1870 the following Whites are living in Chagrin Falls: Don, Nellie, Jane, James, Martha, Susan, Addie, Lorenzo, Zelma, Ulla and Henry,  but no Dell. I search in Cuyahoga Count, but he or she is not traceable.
